Statement by Ambassador Hugo Llorens on Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance

Today, we honor the lives of the men, women, and children who died in the tragic events of September 11, 2001. We pay tribute to the heroism of those who responded to the crisis, and we salute the brave men and women of our armed forces and other government agencies who continue to protect the U.S. at home and abroad.

As we remember those who perished and those who continue to sacrifice, let us rededicate ourselves to service and to the values and principles that have made our country strong: equality, justice, liberty, and democracy. Please join me for a moment of silence.
