New Deputy Chief of Mission Arrives to U.S. Embassy Tegucigalpa

TEGUCIGALPA – Simon Henshaw has taken over as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras as of August 12, 2008.

Mr. Henshaw joined the State Department in 1985, and is a career officer in the U.S. Foreign Service.  His most recent assignment was as Consul General in Brasilia, where he oversaw four consular sections - at the Embassy and at three Consulates.  His previous overseas posts include St. Petersburg, San Salvador, Abidjan, and Manila.  In Washington, he has worked in the State Department’s Office of Cuban Affairs, Central American Affairs.

He attended the National War College, where he earned a Masters of Science in National Security Affairs, and has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  Mr. Henshaw is married and has two children.
