Information Regarding Immigrant Visa Interviews
When the Department of Homeland Security approves an immigrant visa petition in the United States, the case is then transferred to the National Visa Center (NVC). If you have received a notice that the case has been sent to the National Visa Center, but you still have not received a case number beginning with the letters ‘TGG’, you can call the NVC at (603) 334-0700 or write to them by mail at: National Visa Center, 32 Rochester Ave, Portsmouth, NH, 03801-2909. When the case is ready to be processed, the National Visa Center will forward the case on to the Embassy in Tegucigalpa. Note that petitions which are filed at the Embassy in Tegucigalpa are not sent to the NVC.
It is important to note that if the petition is for a category in which only a limited number of visas are available each year (such as F categories – spouses and children of legal permanent residents and siblings or adult children of American citizens), the case will not be forwarded to the Embassy until the case is current and a visa is available. Once a petition has been sent to the Embassy for processing, the applicant and petitioner will receive a notice in the mail informing the applicant of his or her appointment date and time. This notification will also contain a packet of information regarding the types of documents that the applicant is required to bring to his/her interview. These documents depend on the category of the visa petition.

No one can assure you in advance that the visa will be issued. Please do not make plans to depart Honduras before your visa is issued. For example, do not quit your job, sell your property, or leave school until the visa is issued. If you receive a visa, you will have six months to travel to the U.S.

Please note that the Consulate only accepts cases in which the applicant is a Honduran citizen or has official Honduran residency.
