APPLYING
FOR A U.S. PASSPORT
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Please
fill out all forms in BLACK INK.
Children
under 14 years old must be accompanied by both parents. Child's birth
certificate and Parents' identification is required. If only one parent
is present in Honduras, a written authorization from the other parent
is required. If both parents are out of the country, a notarized written
authorization from both parents is required.
Parents
are encouraged to bring their passports showing their travel to the U.S.
and return.
Fees
may be paid in U.S. dollars or the equivalent in Lempiras. Credit cards
and personal checks are not acceptable. The passport fee is non-refundable.
The
Consul may require documentation in addition to suggested items listed
below. In this case, the applicant has 90-days to provide the documentation.
After the 90-day period, the application will be abandoned and sent to
the U.S. State Department.
Applicants
may pay a fee of 140.00 Lempiras Cargo Expresso for passport delivery.

If you apply at
the Consular Section in Tegucigalpa:
Passport
applications may be submitted Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to
11:30 am.
As
of April 8, 2002 passports will be issued at the National Passport Center
in U.S. Turn around time will be approximately two weeks.
If you apply at
the Consular Agency in San Pedro Sula:
The
Consular Agent in San Pedro Sula will accept passport applications Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
As
of April 8, 2002 all applications accepted in San Pedro Sula must be adjudicated
at the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa and, if approved, they will be sent
to the National Passport Center for issuance and will be returned, generally
by Cargo Expresso, approximately within three weeks.
The
Consul may require additional documentation or personal interview at the
Embassy.

FIRST TIME APPLICANTS
MUST SUBMIT:
1. Evidence of U.S.
citizenship. The most common evidence of citizenship is a birth certificate
(original or certified copy) or naturalization certificate.
2. Proof of identity. The most common are driver's license, previous passports,
school identification card, school diploma, residency card or any other
document with name and picture. If the applicant is a minor, family photographs
of the child in the United States should be presented.
3. Three (3) passport photos, 2"x 2" on a white background.
Instant or digital photos are not acceptable.
4. Immigration movement (movimiento migratorio) from the Honduran immigration
office.
5. Fee of $85 for adults (16 and older) and $70 for children.

TO RENEW A PASSPORT
THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED:
1. Your current passport.
If your current passport is unavailable please read the instructions for
lost or stolen passport.
2. Three (3) passport photos, 2"x 2" on a white background.
Instant or digital photos are not acceptable.
3. Fee of $55 for adults, $70 for children and $85.00 for those adults
(16 and older) whose previous passport had a validity of 5 years.
4. Family photographs should be submitted to establish the growth of minor
children. These photos should range between the age in which their previous
passport was issued up to their current age.

TO REQUEST A CHANGE
OR CORRECTION TO YOUR PASSPORT OR ADDITIONAL VISA PAGES:
1. Proof that the
information in your passport is not correct or has changed. Please submit
original documents such as birth certificates, divorce decrees, court
orders, marriage certificates, etc.
