U.S. Passport Information
- Evidence of U.S. citizenship. The most common evidence of citizenship is a birth certificate (original or certified copy) or naturalization certificate. - Proof of identity. The most common are drivers license, previous passports, school identification card, school diploma, residency card or any other document with name and picture. If the applicant is a minor, family photographs of the child in the United States will have to be presented. - Three (3) passport photos, 2x 2 on a white background. Instant photos are not acceptable. - Immigration movement (movimiento migratorio) from the Honduran immigration office. - Fee of $60 for adults (16 and older) and $40 for children. Fees may be paid in U.S. dollars or the equivalent in Lempiras at the Embassy in Tegucigalpa. However, during the north coast consular visits, fees must be paid in U.S. dollars ONLY. Credit cards and personal checks are not accepted. - Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent. Identification of the parent is required. If neither parent is present in Honduras, a notarized authorization written by the childs parent(s) requesting the issuance of a passport for their child, will be necessary. Identification of the authorized person is required.
