About the Deputy Chief of Mission
Deputy Chief of Mission Simon Henshaw
Mr. Henshaw is a career officer in the U.S. Foreign Service, currently assigned to be Deputy Chief of Mission in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. His most recent assignment was as Consul General in Brasilia, where he oversaw four consular sections, in the embassy and at three consulates.
Mr. Henshaw joined the State Department in 1985. His previous overseas posts include St. Petersburg, San Salvador, Abidjan, and Manila. In Washington, he has worked in the State Department’s Office of Cuban Affairs, Central American Affairs.
He attended the National War College, where he earned a Masters of Science in National Security Affairs, and has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Mr. Henshaw is married and has two children.
